Features include a separate classroom wing for each grade level containing 20 classrooms (including 4 science rooms), a teacher planning area, as well as student and staff toilets. A total of 75 classrooms are provided. A Music wing includes a 4,251 square foot Little Theater to seat 607 students, along with 4 music classrooms. An alternate would provide 2 additional music classrooms. Two Art classrooms and 2 Consumer Science classrooms are included as well. Gymnasium space includes bleacher seating for 1500 people, a main basketball court, 3 additional basketball courts, volleyball courts, locker rooms, physical therapy room, and a football equipment room. Food service and dining space is provided for 558 students. The Library consists of a 4,480 square foot central space surrounded by 2 technology labs and 3 computer labs. Administrative space includes a central office with security entry, offices, conference rooms, and special education areas.

The Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) has honored the school as the winner of its Middle School Division's 2001 School of the Year Award in Architectural Design
