Claiborne High School was designed to accommodate up to1000 students in nearly 161,000 square feet of space. Areas provided include 48 teaching rooms, including 10 vocational/technical labs. There is also a media center, art, choral, and band rooms, along with an assembly area, physical education spaces, and food service facilities.

Athletic facilities include a full-sized gymnasium, football stadium, and other athletic fields for baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, and track.

The Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) has honored the school as the 2005 High School of the Year Award Winner in its annual Architectural Design competition.
