Community Tectonics was commissioned along with The Lewis Group to design a new facility to provide an environment for exploration of major issues in science and technology as contributors to our society. This facility will house activities such as study teams, workshops and symposia, graduate and professional education programs, and seminars and courses offered by scientists and engineers at ORNL. Some programs will be accessible by videoconference to students working at ORNL and other ORNL staff.

The facility acheived LEED certified silver status from the U.S. Green Building Council, a building industry coalition that promotes environmentally resposible technologies.
