Mr. Crye acquired a wide variety of experience with several other firms before joining the staff of Community Tectonics. He has been involved in all phases of HVAC and plumbing design, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, shop drawings and field observation. He has been involved in churches, commercial, institutional and industrial design projects including religious facility master plans, sanctuaries, family life centers, hospitals, office buildings, restaurants, motels, universities, community colleges and production facilities.

Mr. Crye's religious experience includes the master plan for Grace Baptist Church, Westmore Church of God, Church of God International Headquarters, Cleveland, First Baptist Church-Cleveland, First Baptist Church of Gatlinburg, Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Fellowship Evangelical Free Church, Bearden United Methodist Church and Christ our Savior Lutheran Church.

He has most recently been involved in the design of two new high schools for Claiborne County, Sweetwater Primary School, Monteagle Elementary School, College Street and Westwood Elementary Schools in Manchester, Tennessee, and the Lee University Dormitory Building.

He has performed surveys for all of the TVA Hydro Facilities, payback studies evaluating the use of geothermal systems and facility evaluations for various school systems.

His educational experience also includes Pellissippi State Technical Community College, Roane State Community College, Christenberry Elementary School, Bearden High School and Sevierville Intermediate School.

Mr. Crye is a 1983 graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is a member of First Baptist Church, Powell, where he is a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Jon currently serves as president of the local chapter of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Mr. Crye has been heavily involved in the design and Leed certification process of The Joint Institute of Computational Services & Oak Ridge Center of Advanced Studies; one of the few Leed certified projects in the state of Tennessee. He is also a member of the recently organized East Tennessee Chapter of The Green Building Council.
