    Donald P. Shell AIA, REFP
CEO
   

Mr. Shell, corporate chief executive officer joined the firm in 1970. and presently serves as Corporate CEO. He previously served as the Corporate President. He is currently responsible for the overall business and design direction of the firm. Mr. Shell's design work includes such unique projects as Knoxville's world-famous Sunsphere, the theme structure for the 1982 World's Fair. Other projects of interest include the Farragut Primary, Intermediate and Middle Schools and the Walters State Community College Main Campus Library.

The broad range of Mr. Shell's experience offers him the ability to solve problems by drawing on a wide variety of successful solutions. As a Principal and the CEO of Community Tectonics Architects, Mr. Shell is heavily involved in the professional development of the corporation. His philosophy of professional practice, which employs personalized service to each client, forms one of the foundations upon which Community Tectonics is built.

As Project Principal for the Master Plan and the first phase of development of Westwood Baptist Church, Cleveland, Tennessee, he was responsible for programming, design and overall project management.

Don also served as Project Principal for the Master Plan and the first phase of development of West Towne Christian Church, Knoxville, Tennessee.

Don directed the Master Plan for First Baptist Church, Cleveland. He has assisted this church in revising their Master Plan twice in the past 10 years.

He designed both a Sanctuary and an educational classroom addition for First Baptist Church, Cleveland, which enabled this congregation to remain on its existing site.

Don was responsible for the design of a Sanctuary/Multi-Purpose Building for Woodlawn Christian Church in Knoxville, and conducted Master Planning for Corryton Baptist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mr. Shell has conducted Educational Facilities Master Planning processes for eighteen school systems in East, Middle and West Tennessee.
